The coffee table, an American invention of the modern age, simply did not exist in the time of classic Shaker furniture making. We have designed a coffee table that features an oversized Shaker-style oval tray with a hand-carved cherry rim and copper tacks. The base is made from solid cherry, with intersecting stretchers for extra stability. The removable top is 35" long and 23 1/2 " wide. Height is 18". Clear cherry, with steam bent rim. This furniture kit contains all the materials needed, except the final finish, including sandpaper, Shaker Oil Finish, hardware, and simple step-by-step instructions. Each component has been precisely fashioned to assure an accurate fit before you do the final hand sanding and finishing. Only common hand tools are needed to assemble our kits.
